The Deck

Travel Information

The Deck is a roof-top venue at the National Theatre, which is on the South Bank of the Thames, just minutes from Covent Garden, the West End and Waterloo.

Arrival to The Deck

The Deck is located on level three of the National Theatre. There are four lifts which can be taken to this level or there is the main staircase. Please note that due to mezzanine levels on each floor level three is in fact 6 levels up should you decide to take the stairs. The Deck remains closed when not in use for events so access for viewings is by appointment only.

Buses

Numerous buses stop at or near Waterloo Station and Waterloo Bridge, including:
1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 76, 77, 139, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 211, 243, 341, 381, 507, 521, X68, Riverside Bus (RV1).

Underground

Waterloo, Southwark or cross the river via Golden Jubilee Bridge for Charing Cross / Embankment.

Rail

Waterloo, Waterloo East or cross the river via Golden Jubilee Bridges for Charing Cross.

Parking

The National Theatre has its own car park (open to public). Opening times are 6am to 1am and guests can take a lift from the basement straight up to level three where The Deck is located. Please note we are unable to reserve parking.

Taxis

If you require a taxi, please ask your Event Manager or ask at the information desk in the main foyer on ground level.

Bicycles

There are bicycle racks on Theatre and Cottesloe Avenues.
